Energizing Breakfast Pudding with Dates and Flaxseeds

Now you might think that all I do is eat breakfast, but I'll get back to lunches, main courses and smoothies shortly.

This breakfast pudding is sweet and perfect for kids as you try to get them off dairy and artificially sweetened yoghurts packed with deadly additives. For kids, I'd go a little easy on the Flaxseeds and nuts. If you are allergic to nuts, just leave them out.

I usually store the fruit in the fridge the night before so the pudding is nice and cold.

Ingredients
1 Apple (Organic)
1 Banana (Organic)
3-4 Dates (The more, the sweeter it gets)
2 tbsp Flaxseeds (grinded)
2 tbsp Cashew nuts
1 tbsp Chia seeds

Blend everything until smooth. Top with Flaxseeds, Hempseeds and/or Cashew nuts and serve directly. If you find the color boring, add some Strawberries or Acai.

Pear - Banana Hemp Breakfast Pudding

Sorry for the lack of posts here lately. Due to personal reasons I haven't felt like writing here for a while. Now I'm back!

This yoghurt is one of my favorites and it's sweet and energizing, while gives you enough protein to feel focused for hours to come. I'll post another breakfast pudding after this one.

As usual these are very easy to make and with a right blender it's done in seconds. Chop the pear and banana in smaller pieces and you'll have it done in microseconds.

Ingredients:
1 Large Pear (Organic)
2 Large Banana (Organic)
1 scoop Hemp Protein
1 tbsp Cashew Nuts

Blend and serve.

Carrot Mango Powersmoothie

This smoothie is enough for me for breakfast as I still feel quite full from last night's burger-fest in front of the TV playing Team Bondi's and Rockstar's fantastic L.A. Noire. What an awesome meal, but most importantly, what an awesome game. It doesn't get more mass-market than that.

"What? You've gone vegan? Where do you get your protein from dude?" I have heard the same question countless of times and unfortunately many people that are on a plant-based diet, doesn't get enough protein just because they don't know where to look for it. Lack of protein sends you on a downward spiral into lack of concentration, tiredness and depression. With that said, the meat industry has spread a rumor that the best protein is found in red meat, which is obviously a lie. Another popular lie is that we need such a high dose of protein to function normally. This smoothie includes my absolute favorite source of protein - Hemp! In this case I used Sun Warrior Protein while I wait for my latest shipment from Vega to arrive.

Ingredients
1 Mango
2 Medium sized Carrots
2 Red Apples
1 Banana
1 tbsp Ground Flaxseed
1 tsp Lucuma
1 tsp Mesquite
1 tsp Maca
1 tbsp Hemp Protein
1 tbsp Bee Pollen
Water to get the thickness you prefer

Blend - done - Invigorate!

Flaxseed-Pumpkinseed Breakfast Pudding

Flaxseeds and Pumpkinseeds are fantastic, so why not make a breakfast pudding out of them. As an option I have added Vega Whole Foods Optimizer, but as it's close to impossible unless you have a source in the US or Canada, it's hard to ship over to Sweden.

This breakfast pudding is based on Flaxseeds, Flaxseed Oil, Pumpkin seeds and Cashews.

Ingredients
2 tbsp ground Flaxseeds
1 tbsp Flaxseed Oil
1 tbsp Pumpkinseeds
1 tbsp Hemp seeds
1 tbsp Cashews
1 Apple
1 Banana
0,5 - 1 dl Almond Milk (depending on how thick you want the yoghurt to be)
1 tbsp Vega Whole Foods Optimizer (optional and you can also add Hemp Protein instead)

Blend everything until smooth and top with whole Flaxseeds and Pumpkinseeds. This is a super energy source and a great start of the day and I need this today as I've got a day of gardening in front of me.

Buckwheat Crunch with Flaxseeds and Fruit

The Excalibur Dehydrator is a wonderful invention as it allows me to make my own Buckwheat Crunch, which is one of my favorite breakfasts. Renee Voltaire's Buckwheat Crunch, which is available in any supermarket is great of course, but nothing beats home-made. In fact, you don't need a dehydrator to make Buckwheat Crunch if you have an oven that can be heated to as low as around 50-60 degrees.

Ingredients
Buckwheat Crunch
2 tbsp of ground Flaxseeds
1 tbsp of Agave Nectar
0,5 dl of Almonds or Walnuts (chopped to size of your choice)
1 Banana (in slices)
1 Apple (in pieces)

Combine the ingredients and top with Hemp or Almond milk.

Kids love Wheatgrass!

She might not like a happy camper in this picture, but I can assure you there's a battle between me and my youngest daughter over my breakfast and smoothies every morning and they are 98.6% all GREEN.

Raw food fruit yoghurt like my Cashew Cream Fruit Yoghurt is exceptional for kids and you can mix in any fruit you would find in any dairy, over-dosed with sugar yoghurt. I can assure you they'll love it.

Wheatgrass juices are also a popular addition to the breakfast table. A teaspoon mixed with fresh Pineapple or Orange (or mixed) juice is awesome and gives them a great start of the day.

Superfood Banana - Cashew Yoghurt

If you're on a low carb diet this one will destroy it, but it's damn tasty and for me a great breakfast.

As the base for this is Cashew Cream you need to soak the Cashews at least eight hours before your breakfast. You find the recipe here.

Ingredients:

1/2 - 1 dl of Cashew Cream (Quite thick)

2 bananas

1 tsp of Agave Nectar

2 tsp of Tropical Fruit Mix Superfood Powder (available through Raw Food Shop in Sweden)

So, this is how it's done.

Mix everything into a yoghurt and enjoy!

Raw Cashew Fruit Yoghurt

Do you love yoghurt, but want to kick the dairy from your diet? Raw yoghurt is healthier, fresher and more nutritious than any dairy yoghurt. This particular yoghurt requires a little bit of preparation in advance as I use Cashew Cream as a base.

Cashew Cream
Soak 1 dl of Cashew nuts (obviously natural, not roasted or salted - but you knew that already) in water. Add water so it covers the Cashews and about 2 cm above them. Store them in your fridge over night.

Pour out some of the water and blend the Cashews to a cream-like fluid.

Raw Cashew Fruit Yoghurt
1 Apple, cut in very small pieces
1 Banana
2 dl of Cashew Cream
1 tablespoon of Pumpkin seeds
2 tablespoons of Flaxseeds (Linfrön in Swedish)
1 tablespoon of Sunflower seeds
  1. Mix the apple pieces with about 1 dl of the Cashew Cream. Mix to a smooth cream.
  2. Add the Pumpkin-, Flax- and Sunflower seeds and mix. If the mix gets too thick, add more of the Cashew Cream.
  3. Add the banana and mix until smooth and yoghurt-like.
  4. Serve with some seeds and Cashews on top.
Note: Never peel Apples. A lot of nutrition gets lost by peeling Apples, but make sure you buy organic Apples (or use your own) as Apples are often victims of heavy pesticides and pesticides are pure poison to your body.
